Tomorrow, Daniel Angerer, the Austrian chef behind Chelsea neighborhood spot Klee Brasserie (and the breast milk cheese guy) opens his 24 seat new sausage joint with partner Lori Mason, Brats: dogs & wieners. They'll serve three styles of sausages: classic, which will contain traditional elements, designer, which will feature "unexpected elements" like pork sausage paired with kimchee and sriracha mustard, and gourmet, which use expensive ingredients like Wagyu beef. They'll also serve salads, milkshakes, desserts, wine, beer, and sake.
Angerer and Mason are still waiting on their liquor license but expect it any day now. Brats is open from 5 PM - midnight for the first couple of weeks but will soon extend hours. See the full menu below, and stay tuned for the opening of Angerer's small spot next door, Little Cheese Pub, which will serve local and imported cheeses, with an emphasis on Alpine selections.
