Last Friday M. Wells, the hot new LIC diner, got a little love from local news team ABC 7, who filmed a profile of husband and wife team Hugue Dufour and Sarah Obraitis. In the clip Hugue demos the recipe for that breakfast sandwich that's getting all the buzz, with the homemade English muffin and pork sausage, pickled jalapenos, and eggs that are zapped in the microwave before hitting the grill. As he explains, the reference point was McDonald's. And good news for those currently craving a Québécois egg sandwich: per their newsletter, M. Wells is extending their hours till 4pm today and tomorrow, so that customers can grab a bite to eat and make the 4:30 Hamptons-bound LIRR train at Hunter's Point for the holiday weekend. And if you want to buy the premium mushrooms used in the food there (which are foraged from the Gaspé Peninsula in Québec, btw), they are for sale, too.
