Apparently, the Belgian Waffle Trend is not Yet Tapped Out

[Renderings found here]

Back in the heady waffle shop days of summer 2008, the Wafels & Dinges truck was on a roll, Le Petit Belge opened up on 14th Street, and a similar shop PetalBelle, debuted just a neighborhood away on Sullivan. However, the stationary waffle game didn't exactly pan out, as both storefronts closed within the next year. But that doesn't scare of Wafflemeister!

According to the Greenwich Village Society for Historic Preservation, the owner of a new waffle house called Wafflemeister will present his or her plans for 257 Bleecker Street (corner of Cornelia) in a meeting on Tuesday. And it looks like a serious undertaking.

Also on the agenda: Scali Caffe, the new restaurant going into the old New York Hote Dog and Coffee Space.
