Chock Full o'Nuts, a coffee shop that got its start in 1932 and grew into a 100 store chain in the 60's and 70's before dying off in the 80's, has opened a new branch in the old Comfort Diner space on West 23rd St. Run by Joseph Bruno, a Brooklynite who teamed up with the coffee corporation, the new location has resurrected the old menu of whole-wheat doughnuts, nut-and-cream-cheese sandwiches, grilled hot dogs and split pea soups. The Times and The Daily News have more. Above is the scene from the soft opening today.
