Fashion Week is in full swing and Racked and Racked NY have all kinds of party and runway coverage. Especially of note for food lovers, a report on Jeffrey Steingarten and David Chang's Fashion Night Out party on Friday night, which included buns, bourbon, and bonus appearances from Aziz Ansari, Adam Platt, and cadres of foodie hangers on.
Meanwhile, the Bon Appetit pop-up cafe is in full swing in Avery Fisher Hall serving Stumptown, sweets from Christina Tosi and Baked, and soups, salads, and sandwiches from chefs including John DeLucie, Bill Telepan, Mario Batali, Michael White, and more. It's open for breakfast, lunch, and wine and snacks at night (more info here). Sit by the window and people watch or take something to go over to the wonderful sloping grass roof of new $20 million Jonathan Benno restaurant Lincoln. Peek inside on the way over to see how they've set up the dining room with oversized white swivel chairs for friends and family dinners. It opens to the public on September 24, but it looks like it could go any minute now.
