Have The Good Times Returned To Le Souk?

New, 7 comments

East Village residents told EV Grieve that they recently spotted as many as 18 people smoking outside of the former Le Souk space at 4:30 AM. The now closed bar famously waged and lost an epic battle with the SLA, costing them their liquor license. While the photographic evidence of the actual smokers is suspect, the Grieve returned to the scene the next day and found actual cigarette butts, something they find rather suspicious for a shuttered business. So are the zombie-like owners now using the space to host after-hours parties? More puzzling, why are people going outside of a closed bar to smoke? The smoking ban only applies to bars that are open to the public and have employees, not to former bars that the owners still have the keys to.
