Shake Shack Upper East Side is Soft Open Now, Now, Now!

Status: Soft open now, officially opening Friday

Union Square Hospitality Group reps announce that the Upper East Side branch of Shake Shack, the chain's fifth NYC location, officially opens this Friday. But what's this? It is soft open today and tomorrow from noon (now) to 8 PM. And a tipster reports there is already a line (see right). Beginning on Friday, it will be open every day from 11 AM - 11 PM.

Special design features here, per the press release, include "sustainably-harvested oak board and batten interior wood paneling, handmade tables constructed from old bowling alley lanes designed by a Brooklyn woodshop and benches featuring ipe wood repurposed from the Coney Island boardwalk (where many believe frozen custard was born)." Cute. Now get up there and send in reports.
