Sam Sifton's review this week of Tamarind Tribeca is already up, and he gives the four month-old Indian restaurant (its original location is in the Flatiron) two stars: "Tamarind is an extremely pleasant place to dine...it is shaping up to be the best thing to happen to Indian food since Hemant Mathur and Suvir Saran opened Devi in 2004.
