Geoffrey Zakarian to Open Yet Another Restaurant Hotel

For the last few years, chef, restaurateur and sometimes TV judge Geoffrey Zakarian has been working on the opening of The Lamb's Club, his much delayed project within the soon to open Chatwal Hotel. Since his project was so heavily delayed, he took on another. Today Florence Fabricant reports that Zakarian is in charge of the National Bar and Dining Rooms (a mouth full), in the Benjamin hotel at 51st and Lex.

Designed by David Rockwell, the restaurant should open in October with "a menu that goes from breakfast to late night, offering soups, sandwiches, appetizers and entrees that are rooted locally but rely on the European and Asian larders for embellishments and seasonings."
