Old-Timer The Rum Bar to Close Earlier Than Planned

Fork in the Road reports that The Rum Bar, a Midtown oldtimer in the Edison Hotel in Times Square, will close at the end of September. The bar lost its lease earlier this summer but was meant to live out the rest of the year. The management writes, "As of today, 8/18/10, We were informed that we must leave by Sept 30. Were hoping to be here through the Christmas Season but it looks like that's not happening."
