Sexual Harassment Suit at JoJo; Brewing Contest at Sycamore

DITMAS PARK— Sycamore Bar has invited 20 “beer professionals” to enter home brews in their Brooklyn Wort competition on August 21. Competitor slots have dried up, but they're selling tickets to the event—which includes tastes of every brew—for $20. The winner receives $800. [BP]

UPPER EAST SIDE—According to the Post, one of Jean-Georges Vongerichten's chefs at JoJo has filed a sexual harassment suit against the restaurant: "Arlene Keith says she went to work as a meat cook at the eatery in March, and was subjected to vile, sexually explicit remarks and advances by another cook, who even went so far as to text her a picture of his manhood." JGV calls the suit frivolous. [NYP]

MONTAUK—Andrew Steinthal and Chris Stang head out to Montauk to learn surfing from Donavon Frankenreiter and fish taco perfection from chef Sam Talbot. [II]

EAST VILLAGE—The Observer's food magazine, Observer Food Monthly, has released their list of the 50 best cookbooks of all time. Chosen by a panel of food writers, chefs, and Observer staff, the list is very British, despite the number of international cuisines represented. Just barely sneaking onto the list at #50 is David Chang's Momofuku. [Eater National]
