At Least Someone Profited from Yesterday's Fire

Eric Wines

Yesterday, at around 5:30 PM a four alarm blaze broke out on the roof of 240 East Houston Street at Avenue A. It displaced residents (including the owner of Continental), forced the closing of streets in all directions, ultimately injured eight of the 188 firefighters on the scene, and caused a general commotion in the area. But it wasn't bad news for everyone. This ice man had a captive crowd on his early evening run yesterday.
