After months of keeping the world guessing, 1 OAK and Butter owners Richie Akiva and Scott Sartiano have finally decided on a name for their new supper club venture in the former Nell's Space, settling on the Darby. Akiva tells FloFlab that this won't be like all of the other nightclub restaurant hybrids, saying, “I want to bring back an old-fashioned sense of class from the ’50’s and ’60’s, like El Morocco, a place where you can dress up, have an amazing dinner and some music and entertainment.” So expect some song and dance acts and maybe a ventriloquist with your dinner from TV personality Alexandra Guarnaschelli, who is developing a Continental menu for the Darby, including a raw bar, small plates, and entrees. That is old fashioned class right there! The Darby is like other new nightlife venues in that it is timing its opening for Fashion Week.
