Every year or so, something opens in Long Island city that makes reasonable Manhattanites think twice about the so close yet so far Queens nabe. Something that seems worth the 7 ride, worth the river crossing (please see Water Taxi Beach, Dutch Kills). But food freaks, maybe this is really the new addition to put the neighborhood back on the map!
Right now, this simple looking diner from an Au Pied de Cochon alum serves homemade granola, eggs, doughnuts, freshly baked bread, and other breakfast staples. But eventually it will serve a bizarre array of menu items like frogs’ legs, Salisbury steak, lobster rolls, foie gras tamales, rabbit, hot dogs, pizza, and fried rice. At the very least it's interesting, and with any luck, it will be good. Have a look around, and send all early feedback this way.
