Cascabel Taqueria Already Outgrows Space, Plans Relocation

New, 8 comments

Cascabel Taqueria, the diminutive lucha libre-themed taco joint on the Upper East Side, opened at the end of October. But already it's garnered the attention of The Robs, Gael Greene, and plenty of locals. And, thus, it's already outgrown its space. A tipster reports and a visit to the restaurant confirms that Cascabel is moving down the street to the old Willy's space this September. The space is under construction now, and the original location remains open, so expect a smooth transition once it's ready. And also: expect an expanded and more ambitious menu when chef/owner Todd Mitgang has more room to operate.

No word on their long ago rumored expansion to the Upper West Side.
