Disgruntled Workers Sue Batali, Bastianich for Labor Issues

New, 11 comments

Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich are the latest restaurateurs to fall prey to a labor suit from disgruntled workers. Filed by notorious restaurant world attorney Maimon Kirschenbaum, the latest lawsuit contends that Batali & Co. did not pay minimum wage or overtime and shared tips among non-tipped employees at Babbo. The plaintiffs here are requesting unspecified damages and legal fees.

Of course this is just the latest in a strong of restaurant lawsuits that includes recent cases against Brother Jimmy's, Artisanal, Mesa Grill, and Frank. Often cases like this are settled out of court.
