The Lower East Side has Sugar Sweet Sunshine, the East Village gets Butter Lane. The West Village, Midtown and the UWS have Magnolia, Tribeca and Chelsea are served by Billy's, Two Little Red Hens dominates the UES, and Crumbs pretty much picks up the slack in most other neighborhoods. But not in Nolita. The small downtown neighborhood somehow has no store dedicated solely to the overfrosted girl magnets that have been all the rage for the past oh, decade, and that are currently considered recession-proof. (Village Tart doesn't count.)
Mini-chain Billy's Bakery is here to fix that. Crain's reports that the owners have signed a 10 year lease on a 300 square foot store on Elizabeth Street between Prince and Houston in the old United Nude shoe store. It is scheduled to open in November.
