Texas Style BBQ Pop-Up Debuts Tonight at Trophy Bar

Pop ups have been all the rage in Williamsburg of late. New Orleans themed Tchoup Shop has had quite a successful run at bar d.b.a. Asia Dog once made a name for itself at Trophy Bar before deamping to An Choi. There was Bonjin, a late night ramen joint inside Korean restaurant Dokebi. And some punk rockers are opening a Cajun joint inside dive bar Charleston.

Well, now there's another. Tonight, An Choi chef Dennis Ngo and some fellow ex-Texans are debuting HNH BBQ at Trophy Bar. He explains, "We all share a deep love for TX style BBQ (ala Hill Country) and we thought it would be fun to do a pop up style experience with it." They'll be at the bar from 6:30 - 11 PM serving sandwiches made from smoked brisket ($6) or Meyer sausages flown in from Elgin TX ($5), creamed corn, potato salad ($1) and banana pudding with vanilla wafers ($3).
