The first bit of signage has gone up at B&B, the new pub and burger joint from Lure owner John McDonald and chef Josh Capon at the old Centovini space on 25 West Houston. Says a tipster: "Just walked past BB on Houston. John McDonald was outside talking with a sign painter and I think Jean-Georges...looks like the blinds up and signage is on its way." We're getting closer! The team—which also includes FOH mastermind Josh Pickard—was originally shooting for June, recently pushed it to "mid-summer," and now McDonald says he's at least four weeks from opening. Not so bad. Expect the old-school silver leaf hand-painted signage to go up soon.
When it opens, the restaurant will have 70 seats and will feature an upscale pub-style menu, anchored by a few burgers and a dozen other items.
