Brasserie 44 at the Royalton Closes for the Summer

New, 3 comments

Brasserie 44, the two year-old restaurant in the Royalton that opened after the hotel got a major (and to some unwelcome) revamp in 2008, is closing for the rest of the summer. It follows Broadway East, Charles and Bar Blanc Bistro, in a move to take the slow summer season as a time to revamp, reassess, and reconsider opening as something new. Reps can't say whether or not it will reopen with a new name, concept, or menu when it debuts anew during this fall's Fashion Week. But they do have this amusing release:

Brasserie 44 at Royalton will temporarily close for the summer while improvements to the space are being made. Following the success of Morgans Hotel Group's nightlife programming....Morgans Hotel Group is enhancing the legendary lobby bar and restaurant to include a new, additional bar and an enhanced design.
When the space reopens it will have an exciting "cocktail collective that will further solidify the hotel as a midtown nightlife destination."
