Mexican Hit Calexico Plans Greenpoint Expansion

New, 4 comments

The owner of Spitzer's Corner and Fat Baby isn't the only major player making moves on Greenpoint. Calexico, the Mexican outfit that began as one street cart in Soho, expanded into the Flatiron area, went brick and mortar in Red Hook, and then most recently won a bid to open in the Brooklyn Bridge Park isn't done conquering this city yet.

The Brooklyn Paper reports that owners Jesse Vendley and Peter Oleyer just got liquor license approval from the community board for 645 Manhattan Ave., formerly home to La Brique. They say they will offer all of the same items that they do in Red Hook as well as some new additions. It's slated for an August opening.
