ACCOLADES—Avec Eric, Eric Ripert's solo TV series for PBS, received the 2010 Daytime Emmy Award for "Outstanding Achievement in Main Title & Graphic Design." He is currently filming the second season of Avec Eric, and the show will air in the fall of 2010.

BUCKSWIRE—Starbucks added iced coffee to its Via instant coffee line, with a magical powder that dissolves in cold water, whereas the original version required hot. Instant coffee is one of Starbucks' recent efforts to fight off new competitors from outside the coffee market, like McDonald's. [AP]
