A little plywood update: The Commodore, the new Soho restaurant from ex-Charles man Cobi Levy (and various other restaurant world figures), has been abuzz with construction activity this last week, and lo and behold, two men were working on the entrance just moments ago! Sources reveal the friends and family for the second floor Japanese restaurant—that will be "at least a New York Times two-star"— could launch as soon as the last week in July. Let's just hope they're not confused with the new Stephan Tanner dive bar/restaurant Commodore out in Williamsburg.
Update: A fresh piece of intel: the place is no longer called the Commodore (sad). The owners plan on announcing the new, secret name sometime next week. So stay tuned.
