MePa's Double Seven Will Finally Reopen Mid-Summer

New, 3 comments

In proof that some dreams never die, David Rabin is oh so close to re-opening Double Seven, his former cocktail lounge that was forced to close in 2007 after a nasty little landlord dispute. A Page Six spy reports hearing Rabin say that Double Seven will "finally reopen this summer", more than three years after it closed for the first time. Rabin and his posse quickly identified the former Rhone space for the bar's relocation, but the project has been chronically delayed for a myriad of reasons. Rabin tells Eater the delays were mainly due to a "DOB request for more sprinklers and some issues with pulling more water to service them", but adds that "we're hoping to make mid-summer" and be fully operational for the busy fall season and Fashion Week. And like a savvy nightlife veteran, the liquor license for the bar is already pending with the SLA. Rabin also tells Eater that the Lamb's Club in the Chatwal Hotel is also going to be ready this July, and that they have started interviewing for positions for both venues.
