Old Timer Le Boeuf à la Mode and City Girl Cafe Shutter

New, 3 comments

Welcome back to the weekly Friday Shutter. Know of any other restaurant that has met its demise? Let us know.

2010_06_shutter-618.jpg1) Soho: Grub Street reports that two and a half year-old City Girl Café closed yesterday because of building renovations: "Workers tell us they’re looking for a new location in the area (owner Elisa Casas also operates Chelsea Girl Couture around the corner), but there are no concrete plans as of yet." [GS]

2) Upper East Side: Zagat brings the sad news that Le Boeuf à la Mode, a small, family run Upper East Side French bistro that has been in business for almost 50 years, is closing at the end of this month. By the looks of accounts on Chowhound, it would have been the perfect subject of Brooks of Sheffield's Who Goes There column. [Zagat]
