Dollar Cupcakes at Billy's; Scott Conant's Sauce in a Jar

EAST VILLAGE— The Cooper Square Hotel is starting a bi-weekly series of outdoor bazaars with goods from local artisans and snacks from none other than Scott Conant available for purchase in the courtyard next to Faustina. Also: for the first time ever, Conant will be selling 8 oz. jars of his famous tomato sauce for a mere $10. Just think of how much Faustina-quality pasta you could make at home for that low, low price! Things kick off this Saturday, June 19th, from 1-7 pm and will continue every other Saturday throughout the summer. [Eaterwire]

TRIBECA— To celebrate the first anniversary of their Tribeca location, Billy's Bakery will be offering any cupcake in the shop for only $1 on Sunday, June 20th and Monday the 21st. As far as we know, the air conditioning at that location is superb, so, now you have two reasons not to go to Magnolia for your cupcakes this weekend. [Eaterwire]

THE INTERNETSCNN's new food blog Eatocracy launched today, complete with an introductory video from managing editor Kat Kinsman in which she goes to New York's Chinatown and looks at barrels full of frogs, and then goes to Little Italy to learn how to pronounce "guanciale" properly. Eatocracy's mission is to have "smart, passionate conversation and information about food news, politics, culture," which seems pretty standard. Welcome to the fray. [Eatocracy via Eater National]
