Crain's reports that celeb chef Marcus Samuelsson will open his previously announced Harlem restaurant Red Rooster at 310 Lenox Ave., between West 125th and West 126th streets. A source tells the paper Samuelsson is planning a cafe and bar for the 3,300 square foot ground floor with jazz and fine dining in the basement below. Samulsson has noted it will have a speakeasy vibe, while one of his directors said the restaurant will "engage food, music and entertainment."
This will be a huge game changer for the neighborhood, which may eventually also be home to a Hyatt and a Whole Foods.
