Foie Gras Protesters Turn to Per Se, Bouchon, French Laundry

New, 32 comments

Thomas Keller is the latest high end restaurant chef to be targeted by a vegan animal rights group for serving foie gras. The Animal Protection & Rescue League will protest outside of Per Se, Bouchon in LA, and The French Laundry in Yountville this Saturday with the usual hulaballoo and sensational signage (see right). Perhaps Keller will follow the lead of David Chang, the owners of Compass, and Bill Telepan by adding special foie gras dishes to his menu.

It's interesting that they target chefs that are especially known for their careful sourcing—and one that devotes his time to improving school lunches!— given there are so many other potential (and more deserving) targets out there. But perhaps mussing things up at the tony French Laundry sounds like more of a good scene.
