A Peek at Painkiller, the LES Tiki Bar Opening Tomorrow

Painkiller, the hotly anticipated new tiki bar from the team behind LIC's Dutch Kills opens tomorrow in the old East Side Company Bar space on Essex Street. As noted earlier, the small windowless space is chock full of kitsch from the bamboo walls to the paintings of naked ladies, 1970's gangland graffiti, and bright red booths and stools. On the menu—aside from the free hot dogs—you'll find skeleton shot glasses for the hardcore drinkers, big tiki mugs brimming with Dead Bastards, Jet Pilots, 1934 Zombies, and Bermuda Swizzles, a two foot tall drink called the Jolly Stomper, and (in the works!) custom made scorpion bowls. Cocktails range from $12 - 16, and she opens tomorrow at 6 PM.
