Dirt Candy chef Amanda Cohen gets on the blog today to complain that The James Beard Awards, Food & Wine, and the blogs (well, Eater) don't celebrate female chefs. The reality is men vastly outnumber women in executive chef positions in major restaurants nationwide, which can be chalked up to a variety of reasons. Her argument that investors shy away from backing female chefs because they know they won't get enough hype is interesting but oversimplifies the issue. [Dirt Candy via FitR]
