A couple leftover tidbits from the James Beard Awards courtesy of Metromix.
First, Thomas Keller on Sam Sifton's rating for Sho Shaun Hergatt: "I did read the article, and it read like a three-star review, and with a two-star rating. But I've had that happen to me in the past. Who knows? Sam is a critic, and Sam has the privilege and the responsibility to report as he sees it...I wish him well, and certainly would've liked to see a better star rating for him."
Meanwhile Michael White shares a little more on his plans for the Setai: "It'll definitely be something Mediterranean. We're going to do something that's definitely Italian in genre. From Spain all the way to Italy, from Luguria. But also to be able to do something with a bit of spices and things like that—that aren't usually part of the Italian playbook. There's Moroccan influences..."
