The Smith Eyes Northern Expansion with Turtle Bay Space

The owners of the oft-crowded East Village restaurant The Smith have long said that their concept is ripe for expansion, and it almost happened once when they were eying the old Sheridan Square space in the West Village. It looks like they've moved their target north. According to Community Board 6's upcoming full board agenda, the restaurant group is seeking a full liquor license for 956 Second Avenue, between 50th and 51st Streets, right by the new location of Crave.

What's good for NYU kids and the denizens of the bar-lined lower Third Avenue is good for the folks of Turtle Bay and Sutton Place.
