Trouble Afoot at Gottino as Jody Williams Leaves with Staff

Last week, a regular of the sweet Village bar Gottino wrote in to report that Jody Williams, its chef, has left the restaurant, saying, "I can't confirm 100%, but I live in the neighborhood and eat in Gottino several times a week. And, alas, Jody must have done her crazy self in again, because she's nowhere to be seen around Greenwich Ave." Her co-owner Michael Bull, who is involved in a major lawsuit with Williams, told Eater last week that all was well, that they were working things out, that she was still "involved" and in the kitchen. It's interesting timing actually, because their case, in which Bull accuses Williams of misappropriating $95,000, is being heard today in a New York court.

So no, non-shocker, all is not well. Vittles Vamp reports today that Williams has indeed left the restaurant with much of her staff in tow. And the scene at yesterday's brunch was one of chaos.
