Daniel Boulud's Newest NYC Restaurant Will Not be French

In a new video from RedVisitor.com marking the opening of Bar Boulud in London, super restaurateur Daniel Boulud reveals a little tidbit about the restaurant he's planning next to Bar Boulud in New York on Broadway between 63rd and 64th: "I'm creating a new restaurant this winter which will be a different concept. I go away from my French roots a little bit." Exciting! Boulud's reps say they aren't ready to discuss the style of the new restaurant, but note it will have a retail element at the front on Broadway at the corner of 64th St. (Back in October, Boulud said part of the operation would be a ultra-casual take-away type affair.) They also say it's slated to open in January 2011.

Meanwhile, when asked about his favorite restaurants, DB calls out Aldea, Eleven Madison Park, Di Fara, Momofuku, Sushi Yasuda, Locanda Verde, and Marea.
