Welcome back to the Friday Shutter. Know of any other restaurant that has met its demise? Let us know.
1) West Village: A tipster writes in to report that Toons, a Thai spot on Bleecker Street has closed: "Must have been last week sometime - was headed there on Friday and the place is gutted. Not sure why..." A rep at the restaurant says that they've moved to 8th Avenue in Chelsea and have taken over Silom. She says it's the same food, same owners. [ShutterWire]
2) West Village: From the tipline: "Neighborhood Italian spot La Focaccia shuttered on W. 4th and Bank Street. Looks like it could be dunzo." Signage in the window implies the shutter is just temporary, and the answering machine message reveals the shutter is due to a fire that took place a couple of weeks ago. They are not sure when they'll be able to reopen. [ShutterWire]
3) Upper West Side: The West Side Independent reports that eight year-old Neo Sushi and Corner Cafe and Bakery have both closed on the Upper West Side. [WSI]
