Capital Mess

2010_04_dcmess.jpgThe Washington D.C. Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs recently issued a moratorium on new licenses for restaurants, bars, diners, coffees shops and carry-outs around the popular intersection of 14th and U Streets after realizing that only 25 percent of the area's storefronts could house restaurants and bars. This has nothing to do with liquor licenses - it's a ban on any new commercial food shop. Maybe community boards aren't that bad after all! [WBJ via Eater National]
