Inside Midtown Fusion Behemoth Zengo, Opening Tomorrow

Tomorrow Zengo, a Latin-Asian fusion spot owned by Mexican chef Richard Sandoval and opera man Placido Domingo, will officially open in the former Wild Salmon space. Those familiar with its predecessors (including Tuscan Steak, Tuscan, and English is Italian) will remember it's quite a sprawling space and in this incarnation it encompasses a huge dining room, a sushi bar, a sake lounge, and a lower level tequila "library" (bar) called La Biblioteca. Noise level is always an issue with monsters like this, but it's an AvroKO number, so of course, she's a looker. What of chef de cuisine Akhtar Nawab's food?

He's serving up everything from ceviche to sushi, dim sum, noodles, chipotle miso soup, and well, about a thousand other things. Friends and family reports are (of course) positive, but please send all post-opening feedback to the tipline.
