Broadway East Welcomes its Ninth Toque in Three Years

Today marks yet another chef shuffle at two and half year-old LES chameleon Broadway East. Since opening, the restaurant has had several transformations, and with it, eight chefs running the kitchen. First, it was Peter Berley, then Amanda Cohen did some consulting, followed by chefs Lee Gross, Matt Downes, and Corey Hughes, before Gavin Mills stepped in and garnered some buzz with his revamped menu. But it was not meant to be, and Mills headed west, leaving the door open for Patricia Yeo to do some consulting—her last, brief gig before escaping to Boston. Phil Conlon's been at the helm since last August, but now it's time to welcome Sasha St. Germain, an FCI graduate who's spent time at Riingo, Aquavit, Oceana, and Craft. He was most recently at Artisanal before making the switch to Broadway East. You know what they say: ninth time's a charm.
