Sports Bar The Blue Seats Shutters For Good, Eyes Midtown

Though signs at the two and a half year old deathwatched LES sports bar The Blue Seats say it is merely closed for some renovations, management tells Eater that she is closed for good. Though the ownership has tried over the last year to change things up a bit with more (and trendy!) menu offerings, a more accessible front room, and appeals to gamers and politicos, it was not meant to be.

Noting that Ludlow just "wasn't the place for the Blue Seats concept," GM Robert Ceraso says he and his team are looking to reopen in Midtown where the bar could be more of a success. Meanwhile, they're currently considering three possible concepts for the 157 Ludlow space. Most likely, it will become a neighborhood bar with lighter fare.
