Ryan Skeen Already on His Way Out at 5 & Diamond?

Sources inside and outside of Ryan Skeen's new Harlem restaurant 5 & Diamond say the talented but flighty chef is on his way out at the month-old endeavor. Says one tipster, "Skeen is giving notice at his Harlem restaurant, thus hopefully bringing the Ryan Skeen era to a long-delayed conclusion." Another says that owners Lia Sanfilippo and Selene Martinez have already chosen his replacement.

Though Skeen originally told the blogs he was a partner in the new restaurant—implying he would have more freedom and would be sticking around for the long run—it turns out he is still "working on a partnership" and remains a hired gun. Meanwhile the chef is said to have inked a consulting deal with the owners of Coffee Shop and the soon to be renovated Empire Diner. Phone calls to the restaurant for comment went unanswered all weekend.
