Giving Carne Vale Another Shot; Donatella Plans New Resto

NEW YORK— According to a page in Donatella Arpaia's new cookbook, the restaurateur is opening a restaurant called Donatella in New York soon. We wonder if it will be in the old Ama space. [Diner's Journal]

EAST VILLAGE—A new operation is moving into the old and vilified Carne Vale space on Lower Avenue B. Perbacco tried to take last year but was turned down by the Community Board because the owner didn't go to block association meetings or something.
