1) East Village: EV Grieve reports that Chabela's, the year-old Dominican restaurant on Avenue B between 3rd and 4th, has closed. Before Chabela's, it was home to the short-lived restaurant Russo's Pizzeria. [EVG]

2) Hell's Kitchen: A shutter from the tipline: "I noticed last week that Restaurant Lasagna (9th ave btwn 53&54) has closed (thank god) - I peeked through the boards last night and noticed crazy construction for a restaurant/bar that is hopefully promising. The work order on the outside said it was adding a bar, bathroom and changing the kitchen." [ShutterWire]

3) South Slope: Brownstoner has the news that Ellis Restaurant and Bar closed with no warning at the end of February: "After months of unpaid rent and disputes with the landlord, Ellis Restaurant and Bar is no longer in business. The place was open just shy of two years. It never quite found it’s footing in South Slope, feeling more like it belonged somewhere on the Upper West Side." [Brownstoner]
