1) Midtown: Flo Fab reports that the new $2 million flagship location of Kyochon, a major Korean chain, will open in Midtown tomorrow: "They’ll have their signature double-fried chicken wings (three flavors) and other dishes, including a new chicken sandwich on flatbread. It’s not fast food — you’ll wait at least 20 minutes for your meal, cooked to order. A full-service restaurant and bar upstairs will have the same menu, which becomes pricier at night. 2) Murray Hill: Flo Fab also learns that Chado a new Japanese restaurant from the owners of Barbes in Murray Hill, opened earlier this month. Status: Certified Open; 4 East 36th St., 212-532-2210.
3) East Village: EV Grieve brings word that Hirai Mong is now open at 12 St. Mark's Place, at the former home of Gama. As a bonus, they put plates of food out on the street, just like Little Italy or Cafe Bari! Status: Certified Open; 12 St. Mark's Place.
4) Crown Heights: TONY reports that Dutch Boy Burgers has opened next to Crown Heights bar Franklin Park at 766 Franklin Avenue: "Until 11pm, diners can order from a menu that includes grilled seven-ounce burgers like the Dutch Boy (cheddar, mushrooms, caramelized onions), along with milk shakes made from Blue Marble ice cream." Status: After searching around, we've seen no evidence that it's actually open; 766 Franklin Ave..
5) Murray Hill: Another one from Florence: "Marco Pipolo has left Scalinatella, where he was a partner and manager, to open his own place on March 5. He will also be the chef, preparing a broadly based Italian menu. Status: Opening tomorrow; 184 Lexington Ave., 646-837-6020.
