Art Land, Mezcals, Cafe Brama and More Face the Shutter

New, 4 comments

1) East Village: EV Grieve reports that Cafe Brama on 2nd Avenue near 10th Street shuttered sometime last week. [EVG]

2) Williamsburg: Art Land, the dive on Grand near Lorimer shuttered last night: "There was discussion, according to our tipster of an attempt to relocate or reopen, but for now, there is just an empty space where Artland used to be." Perhaps Huckleberry and that new Canadian themed bar down the street siphoned off all of their business. [Launch Stalker]

3) Boerum Hill: Lost City also has some sad news to report: "Mezcals, the longstanding Mexican restaurant between Henry and Clinton, is suddenly gone. A neighbor told me, 'Their lease ran out and the rent skyrocketed.' Pretty dumb business move on the landlord's part, given there are already plenty of empty storefronts on the street." [LC]

4) East Village: EV Grieve learns that Agnes and Eva a sweet little hole in the wall restaurant on 13th between Second and Third, is also shuttered. Per a tipster: "...free wifi, decent brunch foods, no attitude, jazz music playing on stereo, not crowded... i'm so sad, hard to find a non-crowded cafe in the e. village." [EVG]
