The Shuttering of Cain and the Decline of West 27th Street

New, 5 comments

Guest of a Guest brings word that safari-themed club Cain will be closing next Wednesday. The club resides on the formerly mighty West 27th Street, which was once home to some of the city's hottest hotspots, including Marquee, Bungalow 8, and the now-shuttered B.E.D. and Guest House.

The decline of West 27th Street comes as owners and patrons have shifted their focus to other venues and because of a loss of interest in pricey bottle service during this crap economy. Back in July, it was rumored that Cain would be closing and that the venue would relocated downtown to TriBeCa. In the meantime, it appears owner Jamie Mulholland will focus on his Hampton's space The Surf Lodge.
