Oftentimes, it's unfair to single out restaurants for delays. There are unforeseen issues with contractors, red tape with the city, sudden problems with funds, and on and on and on. But then other times, when it's been over two years, when the restaurant has made the Times fall previews twice, when it gets to DelayWire Hall of Fame territory, bets are off. Which is why it's fun to get an update via the Twitter feed on Nuela, a giant Flatiron Latin restaurant originally scheduled to open in the old Sapa space in August 2008: "ran into a partner at Nuela. Douglas Rodriguez's high end cevicheria to open in May in the old fab Sapa space." Fun! Of course, Top Chef Masters alum Rodriguez is no longer involved in the project, but it's good to see it will open after all.
