Michael Psilakis OUT at Anthos as he Considers the Burg

The Brunmeister gets on the blog to report the not so shocking news that chef Michael Psilakis is out at his schmancy Midtown Greek spot Anthos. The news comes just after the Post's report this morning that the chef is applying for a liquor license for a giant space in Williamsburg:

That he is giving up his stake in the fanciest of his restaurants in Manhattan while looking at humble locations in Brooklyn says volumes about the trajectory of the restaurant business during these recessionary times.

The move comes six months after the chef divested himself of his other Midtown restaurant Mia Dona. The menu at Anthos, which is now run solely by Psilakis' former partner Donatella Arpaia, will remain unchanged.
