Today, Keith McNally's new restaurant Pulino's—the most important restaurant to open in mid-March 2010—held its second day of friends and family breakfast and lunch. And while they stopped Eater operatives at the vestibule yesterday, the door wasn't so tight today. As expected, the sprawling space was staffed up the wazoo (4 - 1 worker to customer ratio), and they kept the restaurant about half full. In person, indeed, she's a looker, and the details, from the undulating brick arches to the tile walls, liquor lined shelves, and stark wooden tables make it a true McNally Joint. We will let the tipsters and critics weigh in on the food once the place opens officially on Monday, but let's just say signs point to promising.
Oh and the "very unique" way the pies are cut? It's squares people, like a Domino's thin crust (see final photo).
Of course, the question on every single reader's mind right now can only be, "What, by God, are the bathrooms like?" Answer: Schiller's. They are pretty much exactly like Schiller's. See photos above, and please send all early reports to the tipline.
