160 Berry St., Williamsburg
Status: Now open.
Just in time for the New York Times' big coffee issue this week, Blue Bottle, the San Francisco roaster and cult favorite among coffee dweebs, has opened its first New York location in a huge space on Berry Street in Williamsburg. As mentioned previously, most of the large space is dedicated to roasting and packaging, with a small communal standing room area up front set aside for drinking and waiting. And there will be a lot of waiting. As is the case with most other highfalutin hipster caffeine emporiums around town, the baristas are meticulous here. And drip coffees alone take at least four minutes a cup. Enjoy the joe, Burg, and send all ealry reports this way.
