Flo Fab rolls out a stunner this morning. Joey Campanaro, chef/owner of The Little Owl and co-owner of Market Table, will be the chef at Kenmare, the new Nur Khan and Paul Sevigny rendition of the shuttered Civetta. Says the big JC: "...what I really like this that this part of town is turning into a real restaurant neighborhood, what with Jimmy Bradley and Micheal White opening around the corner." Bradley is opening a restaurant called J&S Food Hall in the Nolitan hotel on Kenmare and the Bowery, while White's new place is over on Lafayette just below Spring.
It's an interesting move for the chef who has launched for such iconic neighborhood restaurants to join with operators who are known as scene makers. Perhaps this space could turn into a serious restaurant after all.
